The beach at Mediterrania Saidia is simply heavenly, and holds the coveted Blue Flag eco-label. The golden white sand stretches for miles and miles, and the beach slopes gently into the pearl blue sea, with only the smallest of surf. The shallow water is safe for children, ideal for swimming, sailing or other water sports.
The Blue Flag is a voluntary eco-label awarded to over 3200 beaches and marinas in 37 countries across Europe, South Africa, Morocco, Tunisia, New Zealand, Canada and the Caribbean.
Dotted along the beach at Mediterrania Saidia are a series of beach clubs incorporating cafe and refreshments, showers and toilets.
If you walk along the beach to the east you will come Saidia old town, which has long been a local tourist destination, and if you carry on further east you will come to the Algerian border. Walk to the west and the beach quickly becomes deserted, so if you're looking for some solitude or isolated sun bathing this is the direction to pursue. To the west the beach is fringed by a natural bird preserve of marsh and broken woodland - a paradise for bird watching.
